Final Music Video

This is the final draft of our music video. It was filmed by my partner and I conducted the editing.

First Draft Of Music Video

This was our first draft of our music video. We showed the video to our target audience and the feedback strongly suggested it was too flashy. For our final draft I will remove some of the extensive flashing effects.

Editing process (Adobe After Effects CS6)

After syncing the shots to the track on Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 I went to add visual effects on Adobe After Effects CS6. I added flashing lights and distortion, as well as, the intro titling.

I compiled all of the shots and cropped them down to sync with the track.

Preview of Music Video Unedited and Audience Feedback

This is the music video before I edit in after effects.

Our audience feedback said that I should make sure that the lip-syncing is perfect and that I should add flashing lights and distortion effects to the video.

Magazine Adverts

The magazine advert on the left was my first draft. However, upon audience feedback it was clear to me that it lacked consistency with the album cover, for example; the font group was different and so was the colour palette. In order to correct this I made the red in 'Infinity' the same red that was used on the album cover and I also corrected its font. I also made the tag line yellow, the same shade of yellow that is used on the backdrop. Additionally, I made the grey smoke a blue/turquoise colour to match the backdrop also. As well as this, I added the company logo "Panz Entertainment" next to the distributing company logo in the bottom right corner as it was featured on the album cover.
This made my magazine advert more consistent and allows the imagery to flow and become more pleasing for my target audience to view.

Test Shots

These are some test shots we took before taking our actual shots for our digipack.

Existing product inspiration for Album Cover

We thought to use these album covers as inspiration for our album cover. The colours in both and the dark outlines in the De La Soul album cover. We also really liked the graffiti and cartoon look which we intend to include in our production.

Pre-Production Weather Check

The best weather to shoot the outside shots is on Sunday, this is because the performers go college and won't be able to attend on weekdays and also Sunday is the only day which looks like Sun will be coming out despite the short time of sunshine it will be.

Location of Video Shoot

One of our locations we decided to take the shot was a car park in Thornton Heath, this was to create a urban feel to the music video and also follow some conventions found in current music videos in the genre like flashy cars and also spending a lot of time on the streets. This creates a intimidating look especially if the video is shot whilst its dark.
Another location we decided to shoot our video is in a room just like this, preferably with minimal furniture in the background. This is to allow the performers to be them and use the space to create an intimidating look by making full use of the space also following conventions in the genre.
